Comic Art: Storytelling Through Illustration

In this course, students will explore the dynamic world of comic art, learning how to
bring stories to life through sequential illustrations. The class covers the essential
techniques for creating engaging characters, compelling narratives, and visually
striking comic pages. Students will learn the fundamentals of drawing for comics,
including character design, perspective, panel composition, and the use of color and
shading to set mood and tone.

We’ll delve into the art of visual storytelling, teaching how to effectively
communicate emotion, action, and pacing through images. From sketching thumbnails
to final inking and coloring, students will gain hands-on experience with the full
comic creation process. Alongside technical skills, the course will emphasize
creativity, originality, and developing a personal style.
